coyote

I saw a coyote two days ago near Aquarium. It was such a beautiful coyote walking across the green area. Dogs were barking so loud. Some people are tweeting about it. I did not have a camera, but here is the picture from CTV British Columbia.

Varied thrush

I saw a varied thrush at Prospect point. A varied thrush at the park has a beautiful yellow stripe on it's head.

Crab Apple

It is already the middle of October. There are so many beautiful coloured leaves in the park now. However, I took some pictures of Crab Apples in August. A full crop of apples was on a small tree near Aquarium.

Spinnaker the dolphin dies

Spinnaker, the dolphin, died last Thursday. He was at least 25 years old. Now, the aquarium has two more dolphins, Hana and Helen. It would be nice if they can have a male dolphin in near future.

Snowdrop

Snowdrop has been bloomed in the park.

penguins

I've heard that penguins are coming to Aquarium in this spring. I somehow found out where they are going to be. It is the back of the Aquarium where people can peek animals for free. I wonder how penguins are displayed there. It is still under construction. (This gate is permanently closed after construction. No more free peek for public.)

Aquarium's construction

Vancouver Aquarium's major construction seems to be started. They have finished a new entrance, and now they are preparing to dig out the ground. One of my favourite trees, hazelnut, was cut down. However, this is the process... there will be upgraded aquarium in Vancouver in several years.

My first encounter with Burrow Owl

Finally, I encountered with Burrow Owl! I was wondering around the woods near the aquarium, then he/she was there sitting on a tree branch. It was around 2 pm in the afternoon. But, I did not bring my camera! I did not want to miss this opportunity, so I asked a couple walking near me to take a picture. The very kind gentleman took the picture and send it to me. So here it is!

All kind of creatures at Vancouver Aquarium

I went to Vancouver Aquarium last week. I saw a new showcase of pacific herring. Black monkeys were also very cute.

Electric Eel lights up Christmas Tree

During the holiday season, electric eel was displayed as an energy source for the Christmas tree at Vancouver Aquarium. The middle part of the christmas tree sometimes flashes. Those are the lights which the eel is lighting up.
